Volume 4 of The Life of Jesus the Messiah series — topically discusses Jesus Christ’s mission during His ministry. "There are many books written about the life and mission of the Savior, Jesus Christ, but of all the ones I’ve read this was one of the most reader friendly." – LDSFiles.com

He has also taught courses in American political government and conducted graduate seminars in public law at Pennsylvania State University. (Jul 13, 2004) There are many books written about the life and mission of the Savior, Jesus Christ, but of all the ones I've read this was one of the most reader friendly. E. Keith Howick does an excellent job of combining all the scriptures to connect the doctrinal dots. The book is broken down into 11 chapters starting at the pre-existence and moves through the main events of Jesus' life that exhibited his divine purpose. Each section of the book begins with the actual scriptures he references so you don't have to look them up separately. Howick's thorough explanation of the elements of each event is enlightening without being overwhelming with too many details. I enjoy doctrinal studies, but being a mother of 5 busy children I don't have a lot of extra time or energy to study as much as I would like. I found Howick's book hard to put down. It was easy to read and kept my interest. I learned new tidbits of information such as five of Jesus' apostles were actually his first cousins. Howick also helped me understand that the reason we know so little about Jesus on a personal level is because the sole purpose of the blblical history was to reveal his divinity and doctrine. It renewed my sincere appreciation for the gift that Jesus Christ is; not only to me, but also to all of humanity if we will only come to know and accept his divine mission. |
